How Much Does a Photo Booth Rental Cost in the GTA?

If you've started requesting quotes for a photo booth in the Greater Toronto Area, you've probably noticed that two numbers for "a photo booth" can look nothing alike. One company quotes a flat package, another quotes by the hour, a third lists a low base price and then a long menu of add-ons. None of them are necessarily wrong. They're pricing different things.

If you're trying to make sense of photo booth quotes that range widely for the same date, here's what actually goes into the price in Brampton, Mississauga, Vaughan and Toronto, so you can compare quotes line by line. We've used placeholders where LUNO's own numbers belong instead of guessing at market prices. A photo booth rental in the GTA is priced mainly by booth type, booked hours and what's bundled in (prints, backdrop, attendant, sharing), so the only fair comparison is a line-by-line one.

    1. The booth type sets the starting point

Not all booths cost the same to own, transport or run, and that shows up in the base price.

Booth type What guests do LUNO group size
Digital photo booth Touchscreen photos, GIFs and boomerangs, instant sharing 5–7 per photo
LUXE mirror booth Full-length interactive mirror with on-screen prompts 5–9 per photo
360 video booth (Glass 360 or SKY 360) Slow-motion video while a camera arm circles the platform 3–5 (Glass) or 5–12 (SKY) per spin

A digital booth is usually the simplest to set up and the easiest fit for a tight room. Mirror and 360 booths take more space and more handling, so they generally start higher. If you're torn between formats, our guide on choosing between a 360 photo booth and a digital booth walks through the trade-offs.

    2. Hours booked (and what counts as an hour)

Most quotes are built on a block of hours. The questions that change the real cost:

    • Does the clock start at setup or when guests start using the booth?
    • Is there a minimum booking length? (LUNO packages: 3 or 5 hours)
    • What does an extra hour cost if your reception runs late? (LUNO: listed on your quote)
    • Can you pause the booth during speeches or dinner without losing time?

For most weddings and milestone birthdays, the booth works hardest after dinner. Booking the right window matters more than booking the most hours, which is why we wrote a separate guide on how many hours of photo booth you actually need.

    3. Prints, sharing and the guest experience

Prints are a real cost (paper, ink, printer wear and attendant time), so companies handle them differently. Some include unlimited prints, some cap them, and some charge per strip.

Digital sharing by text, email or QR code costs less to deliver, and for many crowds it's what guests actually use. Check whether your quote includes:

    • Unlimited or capped prints, and the print size
    • A custom template with your names, date or logo
    • GIF and boomerang modes
    • An online gallery or USB of all images after the event

If you're unsure which matters more for your guests, see prints vs digital sharing.

    4. Backdrops, props and styling

A plain wall makes for flat photos. Many packages include a standard backdrop and a prop kit, while customized backdrops, flower walls or shimmer walls are usually add-ons. LUNO includes a premium backdrop and premium props in its Premium and Luxury packages, with custom backdrops as an add-on, and they're worth comparing because the backdrop is in every single photo. Our backdrop guide covers how to pick one that suits the room.

    5. Attendant, setup and teardown

An attendant keeps the line moving, helps shy guests, fixes paper jams and stops props from wandering off. Ask whether the attendant is included for the full booking or only for setup. Also ask how early the team arrives. Most venues want setup finished before guests walk in, and some banquet halls in Brampton and Mississauga have strict load-in windows, so the booth company's timing affects your day.

    6. Travel and venue logistics

Distance matters less in the GTA than traffic, parking and access. A downtown Toronto venue with paid underground parking and a freight elevator costs more time than a Vaughan banquet hall with a loading door. Ask each company:

    • Is travel to your venue included or charged separately? (LUNO: travel fees only beyond the GTA)
    • Who pays for venue parking?
    • Is there an extra charge for stairs, long carries or a late-night teardown?

    7. A quick worksheet for comparing quotes

Copy this into your notes and fill one column per company.

Line item Company A Company B LUNO
    Booth type
    Hours of guest use
    Extra hour On your quote
Prints (unlimited / capped) Unlimited in Premium and Luxury
    Digital sharing and gallery
    Backdrop included
    Attendant for full event
    Travel and parking
Deposit and balance terms 50% deposit, balance 14 days before

Once the rows are filled in, the "cheap" quote and the "expensive" quote often turn out to be much closer than they first looked.

Example: building a quote that fits your budget

Say you have a fixed budget for a booth at a Vaughan wedding and the first quote comes in above it. Rather than walking away, ask the company to adjust it with you: start the booth after dinner instead of at cocktails, choose digital sharing with prints capped per group, and use the hall's own feature wall instead of a custom backdrop. Each change has a clear effect on the quote. You keep the attendant, the template and the hours that matter, and the total comes down to your budget.

When to bring in a booth company

If you already know your venue, date and rough guest count, that's enough for an accurate quote. Book sooner if your date falls in the May to October wedding season or near the holidays, when weekends fill quickly across the GTA.

    Frequently asked questions

Is there a minimum number of hours for a photo booth rental?

Most GTA booth companies set a minimum booking length because delivery, setup and teardown take the same time whether you book two hours or five. LUNO's packages run 3 hours (Standard and Premium) or 5 hours (Luxury); ask any company you're comparing for theirs before you compare hourly rates.

Do photo booth rentals in the GTA charge travel fees?

Some do. Travel is usually priced by distance from the company's base or by zone. LUNO is based in Brampton and serves Brampton, Mississauga, Vaughan and Toronto; travel fees only apply to locations beyond the GTA.

When do I pay for a photo booth rental?

Expect a deposit to hold the date and the balance shortly before the event. LUNO takes a 50% deposit, with the balance due 14 days before the event; get them in writing with your quote so there are no surprises.
