What Is Included in a Photo Booth Rental Package?
The LUNO Events Team

"Photo booth package" can mean almost anything. One company's basic package includes an attendant, unlimited prints and a custom template; another's includes the booth and little else, with everything you'd assume is standard sold as an extra. When you're comparing quotes for an event in the GTA, the package contents matter more than the package name.
If you're comparing packages that all claim to include "everything", here's what a solid photo booth package normally includes, which items are usually add-ons and what to get in writing. A good photo booth package includes the booth, an attendant, setup and teardown, a custom template, a backdrop, props and digital copies; prints, guest books and premium styling are often add-ons.
1. The core: booth, attendant, setup and teardown
These are the basics. If any are missing, ask why.
- The booth itself (digital, mirror or 360)
- An attendant for the full booking, not just setup
- Delivery, setup and testing before guests arrive
- Teardown and removal after the event
- Power cords and any lighting the booth needs
The attendant is the item most often left out of cheap quotes. Without one, prints jam, props disappear and the booth sits unused while guests try to work it out.
2. Hours of use
Packages are built around a number of hours. Clarify whether those hours are "booth open" time or include setup, and whether the booth can pause during dinner or speeches. If you're unsure how much time to book, our guide on how many hours of photo booth you need walks through common event timelines.
3. Custom template or overlay
Your names, date, monogram or logo on every photo is standard in most good packages. Ask how many design revisions you get and when the final design is due. A template takes your colours and theme and turns every print into a keepsake. See our overlay ideas for what to put on it.
4. Backdrop and props
A standard backdrop and a basic prop kit are usually included. Upgrades often include:
| Item | Usually included? | LUNO |
|---|---|---|
| Standard backdrop | Often | Premium backdrop in Premium and Luxury |
| Customized backdrop | Add-on | Add-on |
| Basic props | Often | Included in every package |
| Premium props | Add-on | Included in Premium and Luxury |
5. Prints and digital sharing
This is where packages differ most. Check:
- Unlimited prints or a capped number
- Print size and layout
- Instant sharing by text, email or QR code
- GIF and boomerang modes
- Social media sharing from the booth
At LUNO, unlimited prints, GIF and boomerang modes and social media sharing are available; unlimited prints come with the Premium and Luxury packages, and GIF and boomerang modes are an add-on.
6. Guest books and keepsakes
Two add-ons that guests remember:
- Photo guest book: each guest adds a print and a handwritten note to an album you keep.
- Audio guest book: guests pick up a vintage-style phone and leave a voice message.
Both are available from LUNO as add-ons. They're especially popular at weddings and milestone birthdays, where a keepsake beats another favour on the table.
7. After the event: gallery and files
Ask how and when you'll receive every photo and video:
- An online gallery link (and how long it stays live)
- A USB of all images
- Original files versus template versions
If you plan to use the photos in a wedding album, a slideshow or a company newsletter, ask for full-resolution files rather than the compressed versions sent to guests' phones. It's a small detail that's easy to sort out before the event and much harder afterwards.
8. What to get in writing
Before you pay a deposit, your contract or confirmation should state:
- Date, venue and booth start and end times
- Booth type and model
- Everything included, line by line
- Add-ons and their prices
- Deposit, balance due date and cancellation terms
- Travel or parking charges
- Who to call on the day
Red flags in a package
Be cautious if a quote:
- Lists "booth rental" with no mention of an attendant
- Says "prints available" without saying whether they're unlimited
- Doesn't state the end time or what an extra hour costs
- Charges for a template but doesn't include any design revisions
- Has no written cancellation or date-change terms
None of these mean the company is bad, but each one is a question to ask before you pay a deposit. A company that answers clearly and puts it in writing is usually a company that shows up prepared.
Example: reading a quote line by line
Say a quote reads: "Digital booth, 3 hours, unlimited prints, custom template." Before you sign, ask the questions this list raises: Is the attendant there all three hours? Do the hours start at setup or when guests begin? Is a backdrop included, or is it an add-on? Will I get the full gallery, and in what form? Is travel to my venue included? If the answers come back in writing, you know exactly what you're getting. If they're vague, ask again before you pay the deposit.
When to bring in a booth company
Once you know your date, venue and the kind of booth you want, ask for a written package breakdown. A good company will list every inclusion so you can compare quotes properly.

Frequently asked questions
Are props included with a photo booth rental?
Most packages include a basic prop kit. Themed or premium props are often an add-on. LUNO's Standard package includes basic props, and Premium and Luxury include premium props.
Do I get copies of all the photos after the event?
Usually, through an online gallery, a USB or both. Confirm the format and how long the gallery stays online. LUNO offers a USB of all images; the Premium and Luxury packages also include a digital gallery.
Is setup time included in the hours I book?
It depends on the company. Many count only the hours guests use the booth, with setup and teardown on top. Ask for this in writing so you know exactly when the booth opens and closes.
