Digital Memory Book: The Group Card Everyone Actually Signs
The LUNO Events Team
Published · Updated · 5 min read
The office card goes around for a week, half the team writes "Congrats!" and the rest forget. A digital memory book fixes that: guests leave a photo, a short video or a note at the party itself, and the guest of honour pages through all of it in a flip book that feels like a real keepsake.
LUNO Memory Book works on a kiosk at your event and on guests' own phones, so nobody is left out. A digital memory book collects a signed photo, video or note from every guest at a kiosk or by QR code, then presents them as a keepsake flip book or a big-screen slideshow for the guest of honour.
Quick answer: price, area and booking
Memory Book is part of LUNO Labs, our digital event experiences, and is quoted per event. LUNO sets it up at birthdays, retirements, showers and weddings across Brampton, Mississauga, Vaughan, Toronto and the areas we serve across the GTA, and it pairs with any LUNO booth booking.
1. How a digital memory book works
At the kiosk, a guest chooses how to leave their note: a photo with a message, a video of up to 20 seconds, or just a few words on a coloured card. They write their message (up to 500 characters), add their name and tap to add it to the book. A thank-you screen confirms it's in.
Guests who'd rather use their own phone scan a QR code and do the same thing from their seat. Every note lands in the same book.
Kids love the coloured cards, older relatives appreciate the large, simple buttons, and nobody needs an account or an app.
2. Three ways to leave a note
| Note type | Best for | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Photo + note | Friends and colleagues | Encourage group photos |
| Video note (20 s) | Close family, best friends | Short and heartfelt works best |
| Written card | Shy guests, grandparents | Offer coloured cards for warmth |
Offering all three gets far more guests to take part than a single format.
3. The flip book and the big-screen moment
The finished book opens like a real keepsake, with a cover in Ivory, Noir, Blush or Sage. The guest of honour can page through every note, or you can play the book as a slideshow on a TV during speeches or dessert. Watching a room react to a dozen heartfelt messages is one of the best moments of any retirement or milestone birthday.
4. Where a memory book shines
- Retirements and farewells: colleagues who can't attend in person add a note from their phone.
- Milestone birthdays: a 50th or 80th where decades of friends each add a memory.
- Bridal and baby showers: advice and wishes for the next chapter.
- Weddings: a modern alternative to the signature book, with faces and voices.
- Memorials and celebrations of life: a gentle way for family to share stories.
5. Keeping it thoughtful
Hosts can hide any note with a quick tap from the operator menu, so the book stays exactly as it should. Each board has its own private link, and the guest of honour's name appears at the top of the kiosk, which makes it feel personal from the first screen.
6. Setting it up on the day
- Small table near the entrance or gift table
- Power outlet for the kiosk
- QR cards on each table for phone notes
- A sign: "Leave a note for Priya"
- Ask the MC to mention it once
Place it on the path guests already walk, not in a far corner. A kiosk beside the gift or guest book table gets used all night.
7. Pairing it with a photo booth
A memory book collects messages; a booth collects fun. At a milestone birthday, the digital photo booth rental prints strips by the dance floor while the memory book gathers notes by the entrance. Guests can even add their booth photo to the book with a message.
Example: a retirement party in Toronto
Say a Toronto office is throwing a farewell for a manager after 25 years. Two weeks before, the team shares the QR link so former colleagues across Canada can leave video notes. On the night, a kiosk by the cake collects the rest. During dessert, the book plays as a slideshow on the venue screen, and the guest of honour takes home a flip book of more than a hundred messages.
When to bring in a LUNO Labs team
Set it up a week or two ahead if you want remote guests to add notes before the party. Tell us who the book is for, the event name and date, and your preferred cover colour. See every experience on the LUNO Labs page, or contact us to plan yours.

Frequently asked questions
Can guests add to the memory book from their own phones?
Yes. A QR code lets guests leave a photo, a short video or a note on their own phone, so people at the far tables, or relatives who couldn't attend, can still add to the book.
What can guests leave in a digital memory book?
Three kinds of notes: a photo with a message, a video of up to 20 seconds, or a written note on a coloured card. Every note is signed with the guest's name.
How does the guest of honour see the memory book?
As a keepsake flip book they can page through, or as a slideshow on the big screen. Hosts can hide any note before it appears.
