Baby Shower Photo Booth Ideas for GTA Hosts

Baby showers have grown from small living-room gatherings into full celebrations, with balloon walls, dessert tables, games and sometimes a gender reveal. Across the GTA, showers happen in banquet hall rooms, restaurant private rooms, condo party rooms and family homes, often bringing together friends, coworkers and three or four generations of family. A photo booth gives all of them a way to celebrate the parents-to-be and leave a message for the baby.
If you're hosting a baby shower in a hall, restaurant or living room anywhere in the GTA, here's how to choose the booth, the décor, the props and the timing. For a baby shower photo booth, choose a compact booth with prints, use a soft backdrop or balloon wall that matches your colours, add a photo guest book for the baby and keep the parent-to-be comfortable with a chair and short lines.
1. Choose the booth
| Booth | Why it suits a shower |
|---|---|
| Digital booth | Compact, quick, prints and GIFs |
| Mirror booth | Elegant full-length photos, great for a bump |
| 360 booth | Fun at larger evening showers or co-ed parties |
Most showers choose a digital or mirror booth. A 360 booth can be a fun addition at a large co-ed shower with music.
Think about who's coming. Traditional showers may be mostly women from both families, while co-ed showers and "baby-Qs" bring partners, friends and coworkers. A co-ed crowd tends to use the booth more like a party, with silly props and group shots, so plan the props and hours accordingly.
2. Backdrops and colours
Showers usually have a colour palette, and the backdrop should match it:
- Balloon garlands or arches in soft pastels or neutrals
- Floral walls in blush, sage or cream
- Themed backdrops: teddy bears, "Oh Baby", clouds and stars
- A simple white shimmer wall that works with any palette
A balloon wall doubles as décor and backdrop. LUNO also offers balloon arches and décor that can be designed around the booth.
3. Props for showers
- "Oh Baby", "Mom-to-Be" and "Dad-to-Be" signs
- Oversized pacifiers, rattles and baby bottles
- Signs for guesses: "Team Boy", "Team Girl", "Team Surprise"
- Grandparent signs ("Nana-to-Be", "Dadi Ji-to-Be")
- Flower crowns and sashes for the guest of honour
4. A guest book for the baby
A photo guest book is a lovely shower keepsake: each guest adds a print and writes a message or wish for the baby. Some families keep it as the first page of the baby's memory book. An audio guest book lets grandparents and relatives record blessings in their own voice and language.
Ask the attendant to remind guests to write in the book, and leave pens with fine tips so messages are readable. A small sign with a prompt, such as "Leave a wish for Baby" or "Your best parenting advice", gives guests something to write beyond "Congratulations!"
5. Templates
Design the template around the parents-to-be and the baby: names, "Baby [Surname]", the date and the shower's colours or theme. For a gender reveal, consider two template versions ready to switch to after the reveal. Keep text large and easy to read.
6. Comfort for the parent-to-be
The guest of honour may tire quickly, especially late in pregnancy. Keep a comfortable chair in the booth, ask the attendant to bring her up early and in between activities and avoid long waits. A 360 booth platform may not suit everyone late in pregnancy, so standing beside the platform or using a print booth is a perfectly good alternative.
7. Timing around the shower
Showers often include arrivals, food, games, gift opening and sometimes a reveal. Open the booth after the main activities or right after the reveal, and run it for about two hours. For home showers, a short window means less disruption to the living room.
Kids often attend family showers, and they love a photo booth. Open it for them early in the shower, when they're freshest, and keep a few child-sized props on the table. Their silly shots are some of the most fun in the guest book.
8. Venues across the GTA
Showers happen in banquet hall rooms, restaurants, community centres, condo party rooms and homes. Check the space, power and load-in time. For condo party rooms, book the service elevator and confirm end times.
Share the gallery with guests after the shower, along with a thank-you note from the parents-to-be.
Example: a sage-and-cream shower in a community centre
Say you're hosting your sister's shower in a Mississauga community centre room, with 50 guests and a sage, cream and gold palette. Book a balloon garland behind her chair and place a digital booth in front of the same garland, so every photo matches the theme. Open the booth after lunch and gifts. Set out a photo guest book where guests write a wish for the baby, and keep a comfortable chair in the booth for your sister. Two hours is plenty.
When to bring in a booth company
Book once your date and venue are set, ideally a month or two ahead. Weekend afternoons in spring and summer are popular.

Frequently asked questions
Which photo booth suits a baby shower?
A digital or mirror booth with prints suits most showers. It's compact, easy for guests of all ages and produces keepsakes for a photo guest book.
Can the photo booth be at a gender reveal?
Yes. Time the booth to open right after the reveal so guests can take photos with the colour of the moment, and plan props for both outcomes.
How long should the booth run at a baby shower?
Two hours is usually enough. Showers are often daytime events with games, food and gifts, so open the booth after the main activities.
