Toronto isn't one event market; it's dozens. A loft wedding in Liberty Village, a corporate party in a Financial District tower, a fortieth birthday in a Leslieville restaurant, a Tamil wedding reception in a Scarborough banquet hall and a first birthday in a North York condo party room all happen on the same Saturday, and each has its own logistics. A photo booth can work in every one of them, but what it takes to get the booth in the door and running varies a lot from neighbourhood to neighbourhood.

If you're planning an event in Toronto, from a downtown hotel to a Scarborough hall, here's what each area means for getting a photo booth in the door and running on time. To book a photo booth in Toronto, plan access and parking first, choose a booth that fits the room, book the service elevator or loading dock and allow extra travel time for downtown traffic.

    1. Downtown and the Financial District

Downtown venues include hotel ballrooms, office towers, rooftop spaces and restaurants. They share a few challenges: loading docks with booked time slots, freight elevators, security check-ins and paid parking. Ask your venue for the loading dock details and any vendor registration requirements, and share them with your booth company early.

Traffic and construction can also slow arrivals. A booth company that knows downtown builds extra time into its schedule.

Downtown venues also tend to have firm end times, because the building needs the room back or the loading dock closes. Work backwards from that time when you plan the booth: last photo, teardown, elevator and loading dock. A booth company that knows to ask about this will rarely leave you with an overtime charge from the venue.

    2. King West, Liberty Village and the Distillery District

These neighbourhoods are known for converted industrial lofts, galleries and event spaces with exposed brick and big windows. They make striking backdrops for booth photos. Many lofts are on upper floors with freight elevators, and some older buildings have limited power outlets. Ask about elevator access and where the nearest outlet is relative to your booth spot.

    3. Midtown and the Annex

Midtown and the Annex host many restaurant private rooms, heritage homes and smaller venues. Space is often tight. A compact digital booth usually fits better than a 360 booth. Measure the room and ask whether tables can be moved after dinner.

Midtown hosts plenty of milestone birthdays and family dinners where the guest list is smaller and the mood is relaxed. A two-hour digital booth booking after dinner is often all you need, and it can sit in a corner without changing the room layout.

    4. North York

North York has a mix of condo towers around Yonge and Sheppard, banquet halls, hotels and large suburban homes. Condo party rooms need elevator bookings and building approval; halls and hotels have their own vendor procedures. Our North York and Scarborough guide covers both areas in detail.

    5. Scarborough

Scarborough's banquet halls host many of Toronto's biggest weddings and family celebrations, from Tamil and Chinese wedding banquets to Caribbean and Filipino parties. Halls usually have the space for a 360 booth beside the dance floor. Ask about load-in times, other events in the building and the outlet nearest the dance floor.

    6. Etobicoke

Etobicoke runs from the lakeside condos of Humber Bay Shores to the established homes of the Kingsway and the halls and hotels near the airport. Backyard parties in Mimico and Long Branch, condo events by the lake and hotel receptions in the north each need a different plan. See our Etobicoke photo booth guide.

    7. Parking and access checklist

    For any Toronto venue, confirm:

    • Where the vendor vehicle can unload
    • Whether there's a loading dock and if it needs booking
    • Freight or service elevator access
    • Parking costs and who covers them
    • Vendor registration or security requirements

Sorting these out early is the single biggest factor in an on-time setup.

    8. Choosing the booth for the room

    Venue Recommended booth
Hotel ballroom Mirror or 360 booth
Loft or gallery 360 or digital booth
    Restaurant private room Digital booth
Condo party room Digital booth, or 360 if spacious
Banquet hall 360 beside the dance floor, or digital for big guest lists

Finally, ask every company for the same line-by-line quote so you can compare them fairly. LUNO quotes each booking for your booth, hours and location; the Standard, Premium and Luxury packages are listed with what each includes.

Example: a downtown hotel versus a North York hall

Say you're choosing between a downtown hotel and a North York banquet hall for an engagement party. Downtown, you'll need a loading dock slot, a freight elevator booking, vendor registration and paid parking. In North York, the booth team will likely pull up to a loading door and park for free. Both can host a great booth, but the hall makes setup simpler and quicker. Weigh that alongside the room, the food and the location.

    Frequently asked questions

Do you deliver photo booths to downtown Toronto?

Yes. LUNO delivers from Brampton across Toronto, including downtown, North York, Scarborough and Etobicoke. Travel fees only apply to locations beyond the GTA; mention any paid venue parking when you ask for a quote.

Who pays for parking at a downtown Toronto venue?

It depends on the venue and the booth company. Ask your venue whether vendors can use a loading dock or reserved spots, and ask the booth company whether parking is included in the quote.

Can a photo booth be set up in a Toronto condo party room?

Usually, with building approval. Book the service elevator, confirm the room's end time and check where the vendor can unload.
